Dental practice management software, compared honestly.

We checked 14 systems used by US practices. Only 5 publish a price you can actually read. Here is what each one costs, where the money goes after the sticker price, and which is right for the size of practice you run.

Why this site exists

Most of this market won’t tell you the price.

Of the 14 products we track, 5 publish a real figure and 9 make you talk to sales first. That would be a minor annoyance if the review sites filled the gap accurately. They don’t.

When we checked, four separate sites listed Open Dental at “$179 then $129 a month”. Open Dental’s own published fee schedule says $199 then $149. The $179/$129 figures belong to Practice-Web, a different product. Another widely repeated claim put CareStack at “$698 per user per month”; CareStack’s own pricing page says $829 per month, and not per user.

So we made a rule: we only publish a price we can see on the vendor’s own page, and every one carries a source link and the date we read it. Where a vendor publishes nothing, we say so instead of guessing.

The full stack

Every system we track, cheapest published price first. Products that publish nothing sit at the bottom — not because they are worse, but because you cannot compare what you cannot see.

Prices are the vendor’s own published figures, each read on its source page and dated on that product’s review. “Quote only” means the vendor publishes no price at all — we do not substitute third-party estimates. How we compare.
